Diagnose of Volleyball players´ group cohesion

Abstract
This research aims to diagnose the levels of group cohesion of the Female’s Volleyball team at the Initiation Scholar Sports School (EIDE) Jorge Agoustini Villasana, in Cienfuegos. The sample is composed by 13 athletes that represents the population. We developed a descriptive study using a mixed methodology, emphasizing the qualitative approach. The author used theoretical methods such as: analysis - synthesis, inductive -deductive and empirical methods such as: observations, interviews, the group cohesion questionnaire (Pérez, 1987). This questionnaire was adapted to the sports activity, the suggested topic composition and the methodological triangulation. Besides, the author also used the descriptive statistics. The psychological diagnosis results confirmed the existence of group cohesion of the team, with a value of (0.4), which indicates positive trends in the valuative orientation units. However, it was proved that the most affected patterns were the orientation units of the affection and personalities ‘qualities.
